How to Make Your Paper Pumpkin Pie Slice Craft
This craft is perfect for school-aged children who are confident with cutting and piecing pieces together. My daughter is 9 and easily created her slice of pie without my help.
Step 1: Prepare Your Template Pieces

- Print out the template and roughly cut out each piece. We will simply glue these to the back of the craft paper so we can cut the template and the craft paper at the same time!
- Glue or trace each template piece onto the corresponding colored paper:
- Main pie slice shape on orange paper
- Bottom edging and curvy edging on brown paper
- Rectangular filling piece on yellow paper
- Cloud whipped cream shape on pink paper
- Small ovals for cheeks on pink paper
- Optional (Not on Template) – Small circles for eyes on white paper and smaller black pupils (if not using googly eyes)
- Cut out all pieces carefully, then flip them over so the template printing is on the back.
Step 2: Add the Brown Pieces

- (Optional) Fold the main orange pie slice along to create a more dimensional slice.
- Glue on the bottom brown edging and the curvy pie topping pieces.
Step 3: Add the Pie Filling

- Glue the yellow rectangular piece to the front face of the pie slice to represent the delicious pumpkin filling.
- Tip: Make sure it fits nicely within the orange crust edges. If it doesn't fit simply rotate it and it should fit nicely.
Step 4: Attach the Whipped Cream

- Glue the pink cloud-shaped whipped cream piece to the top of the pie slice, positioning it to look like a dollop of cream sitting on top of the pie.
- Tip: Don't put glue on the entire back of the dollop, you only need some glue along the bottom edge.
Step 5: Add Your Eyes and Cheeks

- Glue on the googly eyes (or white circles with black pupils) – you can see examples of both styles in the photo above.
- Attach the small pink ovals for rosy cheeks
Step 5: Add the Finishing Touches

- Take a cotton ball and pull a piece of it off. Glue it on top of the pink whipped cream.

- Optional – Use a white paint marker to add detail lines and highlights.

- Use a black marker to draw a sweet smile and any additional details like eyelashes
