Gather these supplies to create your nativity candle holder:

- White cardstock or printer paper
- Printer
- Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
- Scissors (adult supervision recommended)
- Glue stick or craft glue
- LED tea light candle or small battery-operated candle

How to Make Your Nativity Candle Holder
This craft is perfect for elementary-aged children, creating a meaningful Christmas decoration with a glowing candle.
Step 1: Print and Color the Template
- Print the free nativity candle holder template onto white cardstock paper or printer paper
- Color in the entire nativity scene featuring Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus
- Color the two halo circles included on the template
Step 2: Cut Out All the Pieces
- Carefully cut out the main nativity candle holder shape along the outer lines
- Cut out the two circular halo pieces
Step 3: Attach the Halo Circles
- Apply glue to the back of the two colored halo circles
- Position one halo behind Mary's head and the other behind Joseph's head
Step 4: Fold on the Dotted Line
- Fold the nativity scene in half along the dotted line
- The two halves should meet evenly
- I like to apply glue and glue these two pieces together (but it's not really necessary)
Step 5: Form the Candle Base
- Grab the left and right bottom corners of the folded nativity and pull the corners forwards toward each other
- Wrap them around to create a circular base
- Test fit your LED tea light candle inside the opening
- Adjust the size of the circle as needed to fit your candle snugly
- Once sized correctly, glue or tape the corners together to secure the circular shape
Step 6: Add Your Candle and Display
- Place an LED tea light or battery-operated candle inside the base
- Turn on the candle to illuminate the nativity scene from within
- Display on a mantle, table, or shelf for Christmas
