How to Make Your Nativity Candle Holder

This craft is perfect for elementary-aged children, creating a meaningful Christmas decoration with a glowing candle.

Step 1: Print and Color the Template

  • Color in the entire nativity scene featuring Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus
  • Color the two halo circles included on the template

Step 2: Cut Out All the Pieces

  • Carefully cut out the main nativity candle holder shape along the outer lines
  • Cut out the two circular halo pieces

Step 3: Attach the Halo Circles

  • Apply glue to the back of the two colored halo circles

Step 4: Fold on the Dotted Line

  • The two halves should meet evenly
  • I like to apply glue and glue these two pieces together (but it's not really necessary)

Step 5: Form the Candle Base

  • Grab the left and right bottom corners of the folded nativity and pull the corners forwards toward each other
  • Wrap them around to create a circular base
  • Test fit your LED tea light candle inside the opening
  • Adjust the size of the circle as needed to fit your candle snugly
  • Once sized correctly, glue or tape the corners together to secure the circular shape

Step 6: Add Your Candle and Display
