Gather these supplies to create your cozy hot chocolate decoration:

Essential Supplies:

Construction paper (blue, brown, white, red, tan, and assorted colors for sprinkles)
Glue stick or craft glue
Scissors
Pencil (for tracing)
Hot chocolate mug template (printable)

Step-by-Step Hot Chocolate Mug Instructions

Follow these simple steps to create your festive hot chocolate craft:

Step 1: Cut and Trace Templates

Print the hot chocolate mug template
Trace each template piece onto the corresponding colored construction paper (blue for mug, brown for chocolate drips, white for whipped cream, tan for cookie, etc.)

Carefully cut out all the traced pieces

Step 2: Attach the Chocolate Drips

Take the brown chocolate drip template piece
Apply glue to the back and attach it to the inside top rim of the mug

Step 3: Add the Whipped Cream Topping

Glue the roughly cut colored sprinkled to the white whipped cream

Apply glue to the bottom edge of the whipped cream piece
Attach it to the top of the mug, positioning it to sit above the chocolate drips

Step 4: Decorate Mug

Cut 6 small white circles from white construction paper for the mug handle decoration
Cut thin white strips for creating the snowflake decoration

Glue all your cookie pieces together to create a cookie.
Attach all the small circles evenly spaced along the handle of the blue mug to create a polka dot pattern
Arrange the white strips in a starburst pattern to form a snowflake design and glue this to the front of the mug.

Attach the cookie to the side of the mug, positioning it as if it's leaning against the cup

Step 5: Create and Add the Candy Cane Straw

Cut 2 long white strips from white construction paper.
