How to Make a Hopping Bunny Paper Cup with Kids
This craft is great for kids ages 5 and up. You'll want to help with cutting the cups and putting it all together.
Step 1: Prepare the Paper Cups

- Take two paper cups and trim the rim edges off both of them
- On one cup, cut it a bit shorter to the grey cup and then cut out a rectangle shape from the edge
- Set the cups aside
Step 2: Print and Cut the Bunny Pieces

- Print out the bunny template and cut all the pieces
- Trace the pieces onto your colored construction paper (We used silver paint to paint on the white cardstock as we didn't have silver paper on hand)
- Cut them out carefully

- Draw on details like the bunny's face, eyes, nose, and whiskers using a black marker
- Add details to the feet and ears as shown in the picture
Step 3: Glue Together the Pieces

- Glue the pieces together as needed
Step 4: Glue the Face and Ears to the Cup

- Glue the bunny's face onto the paper cup
- Attach the long ears to the top of the bunny's head
- Glue the tummy patch to the cup
- Then on the cup with the cut out rectangle, glue the two paws on either side of this open section
Step 5: Add Facial Details

- Glue on the bunny's eyes & nose
- Use a black marker to draw the mouth, whiskers and eyelashes
Step 6: Create the Hopping Mechanism

- Cut two strips of black cardstock

- Glue the two corners together so you form an ‘L' shape

- Fold the strips in an accordion or zigzag pattern, alternating the direction with each fold

- When you get to the end, glue the end pieces together and cut off any overhanging bits.
Step 7: Connect the Cups

- Glue the folded strips to your decorated bunny cup
- Pop the other cup over the top of this one

- Press down on the bunny and let it hop! The folded paper springs back and makes it bounce
