Essential Supplies:
- Colored paper squares (6 sheets per snowflake)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Stapler (optional, for fastening pieces)
How to Make Your 3D Paper Snowflake
This craft creates beautiful dimensional snowflakes that catch the light and add elegant winter decoration to any space.
Step 1: Prepare Your Paper Square

- Take one square sheet of colored paper (we did 10cm x 10cm)
- Use 6 squares of the same size and color for each complete snowflake
Step 2: Fold Sheet Diagonally

- Fold the square sheet diagonally to form a triangle
- Press the fold firmly to create a sharp crease
Step 3: Draw Your Cutting Guide Lines

- Keep the square folded as a triangle, from the folded edge, measure 5mm inwards from the folded edge and draw a line across.

- This line marks where your cuts will stop
Step 4: Mark Equal Strips

- On one side of the triangle, mark equal intervals (we started at the pencil line and did lines at 1cm intervals)
- Space marks evenly along the open edge
- These marks determine the width of your snowflake strips
Step 5: Cut the Strips

- Cut from each mark toward the guide line you drew
- Stop cutting at the line – do not cut all the way through
- This creates strips that remain attached at one edge
Step 6: Begin Gluing Strips

- Open up the cut paper
- Apply glue to the end of the innermost strip

- Bring it to the center and press to secure
Step 7: Glue Opposite Side

- Flip the paper over to the other side
- Glue the next strip, bringing it to the center
- Keep gluing strips, alternating which side you work on
- One strip on the front, flip over, one strip on the back
Step 8: Create Six Identical Parts

- Repeat Steps 1-8 to create six matching snowflake arms
- All six pieces should look identical for a symmetrical snowflake
Step 9: Fasten Pieces Together

- Begin attaching the six arms together at their base points
- Fasten two or three pieces at a time using glue or a stapler
- Work around in a circle until all six arms are connected
Step 10: Display Your Snowflake

- Hang your completed 3D snowflake from the ceiling with thread
- Display in windows to catch the light
- Create multiple snowflakes in different sizes and colors for a stunning winter display
